JCC Sharks and Dynamo Swim Team
to Combine Forces This Summer

We are thrilled to announce a new partnership for 2009 Summer Swimming. The Dynamo Swim Team will affiliate with the JCC Sharks to provide an instructional and fun approach to this Summer's JCC Swim Team.

Suzie Retterer-Helfrich will be coaching in the afternoons directly after our Summer Camp in order to serve our parents who may want their child(ren) to remain later to enjoy and participate on the swim team. The practices will be held when weather permits in the outdoor pool.

Coach Suzie has 25 years of experience at all levels of swimming. She has founded three teams in her career, two at the high school level and one summer team in the NEW league. She has recently coached summers in the Columbus Country Club League.

As a United States Swimming (USS) coach, she has worked for both BKHY (Buckeye) Swim Team and Greater Columbus Swim Team of Ohio (GCSTO) Swim Team, having been selected to serve as an age group coach for the Ohio Zone Team at Mega Zones in Indianapolis in 2003.

Suzie is a high school administrator with Columbus City Schools and the proud mom of four highly successful competitive swimming daughters, two of whom will swim with the team this summer.

Coach Suzie understands the demands on the family as well as the importance of a fun experience while the swimmer improves. Her focus will be on stroke improvement, successful and enjoyable meet experiences and just plain fun this summer. The times for practices will be somewhat flexible with the earliest time beginning at 3:15 p.m.

Due to the limited number of meet opportunities for Novice Dynamo Swimmers during the summer, those athletes will benefit from the practices while gaining competitive experiences on Wednesday nights beginning on June 17 and ending in July.

The East Suburban League of which the JCC Sharks are a part, ends the season on July 22 and 23 with league Championships at the Hilltop YMCA. Coach Suzie expects that there will be vacation interruptions for swimmers and wants you to know that swimmers do not have to compete in all meets according to league rules to be eligible for Championships. The fee for Summer Swimming will be $180.
