Sign Up for These After School Classes Today!
Each quarter, the JCC offers enrichment classes after school for students in Kindergarten through the 6th grades. This fall,
the JCC is proud to offer three classes at the JCC College Avenue location that kids will be sure to love! Check them out...
- Jewelry Making - Shana Raisman, a talented local artist who has featured and sold work all over the U.S., will teach an
eight-week Jewelry Making class at the JCC for students in Kindergarten through 2nd grade, each Tuesday from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.
Classes begin Oct. 6, and end Nov. 24. During the class, the children will have the opportunity to create jewelry
pieces including earrings, bracelets, and necklaces using a variety of materials and techniques. All materials for the class
are included in the price ($75 for Kaleidoscope participants; $85 for JCC members; $95 for non-members). Registration deadline
is Thursday, Oct. 1. Minimum of 6 participants.
- Clay and Crafts - Nancy Rosen, a well-known clay and crafts teacher around the JCC, will present a fun
and exciting class each Thursday from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. for kids in Kindergarten through 6th grade to discover the art of
clay and have their creations fired in the JCC's on-site kiln. Kids also will have the opportunity to work on a variety of
craft projects throughout the sessions, which begin Nov. 19 and end Dec. 18. Children will love to explore their creativity
as they work on all the projects this class has to offer. Cost is $45 for Kaleidoscope participants; $55 for JCC members; and
$65 for non-members. Registration deadline is Wednesday, Nov. 11. Minimum of 6 participants.
- Take the Stage: Improv and Theater - Jared Saltman (at far right), JCC Cultural Arts director, will be
teaching a class in the fundamentals of improvisational theater each Wednesday, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. for students in the
3rd through 6th grades. Classes begin Sept. 23 and end Nov. 11. Through fun and entertaining structured games, vocal/physical
warm-ups, and theater lessons, the kids will learn the basic "rules" of improv. (Pssst, parents...Improv is a wonderful way
to help your child improve their public speaking skills, listening and observation skills, and increase their confidence
overall in a fun and enjoyable way.) Cost is $25 for JCC members, and $35 for non-members. Registration deadline is Wednesday,
Sept. 16. Minimum of 5 participants.

Kaleidoscope is F-U-N!
Here at the JCC, we have an after school program
called Kaleidoscope that offers a combination of structured and free play, as well as space and assistance for children
who wish to complete homework.
Kaleidoscope (for children in Kindergarten through 3rd grade) at the JCC combines the best of all worlds for children -
flexible and exciting activities, quality supervision, nutritious kosher snacks, and an opportunity to take advantage of JCC
classes and facilities. At Kaleidoscope children are able to actively participate in the planning and organization of their own
activities. Our program is flexible, so the needs of all children can best be met. We offer a wide range of activity options,
materials, and equipment for each child.
Each day different activity options are provided, such as arts & crafts, indoor/outdoor sports, swimming, imaginative play,
and games. There are organized group activities, small group activities, and time for free play daily. A quiet homework space
always is available, where our staff will assist your child as needed.
Please note: Kaleidoscope After School Program participants will receive a discount on all JCC enrichment classes offered through
the JCC's Children's Department (fine arts, ceramics, dance, music and more). All After School Program
participants will be escorted by a staff member to classes and brought back to the program at the conclusion of the class.
