"Diamonds, Denim, and Disco," a Success!
More than 500 people attended the 15th annual Gala fundraiser on Feb. 2, 2008 raising more than $100,000 for the JCC of Greater Columbus. This year’s theme for the event was “Diamonds, Denim and Disco,” and numerous guests broke out their disco-era duds to arrive at the event ready to boogie-down. “Everyone had such a great time dancing the night away,” said Denise Glimcher, who co-chaired the event with Carrie Madison. “Even better, they had fun while raising money for a great cause – the JCC,” added Madison. Sports Spectacular 2008
Each fall, the JCC sponsors Sports Spectacular - a split-format event that combines a day of fun on the golf course and tennis courts with an evening of recognition and celebration. During Sports Spectacular 2007, ESPN anchor Jeremy Schaap was the guest speaker during an event that also honored Dr. Fred Davidorf with the Charles Solomon Hall of Fame Award and inducted Allan Byer and David Kass into the Jewish Sports Hall of Fame.
